I have to say I was particularly impressed by the hotel we stayed in at Rome, the Hotel Palatino. The staff were polite, friendly and kind, not like many other people in Rome. My one piece of advice would be to watch out for people stealing your bags. I had my bag stolen, and the staff of the hotel were incredibly comforting, helping me talk to the police (who did nothing btw) and generally calming me down.
Hotel Palatino Rome is ideal for families or groups. It’s in the city centre within walking distance of almost everything and well connected by public transport. The rooms were nice and big and the service was excellent – the staff all spoke English perfectly, not just on the front desk. For a genuine good quality hotel right in the historical centre, Hotel Palatino is the one.

Nothing but good reports on the hotel Palatino in Rome – right next to the Coliseum and the forum and just a couple of minutes away from the beautiful center, also just a few minutes from the train station so really convenient in that sense too. The restaurant was good – the one time that we dined there - and the service was really friendly. Definitely check out the Irish bar round the corner – and the extremely cute guy from Newcastle with the blond curly hair!

Stayed at the Hotel Palatino Rome for 4 nights in January and was highly impressed I have to say. Reasonably priced for the quality of the hotel and its excellent location, and the rooms were very spacious and comfortable. More modern than any other hotel we stayed in in Italy and all the staff spoke impeccable English. I’d definitely recommend this hotel.
